(This is my debut appearance on mykickasslife.me. While I didn’t shoot anything nor did I jump over a small root, I think I did okay)This is the training I did today, with three other guys and two girls. The pool was take-your-breath-away cold and almost made us cramp.
The wheel barrel and the bear crawls were both about 40 yards.I alternated between second and third place most of the time, as I would be slower than the fastest two guys with the exercises but faster when running (they both ran in real shoes, of course).
Total time was 2:20 ish, but we didn’t track all that accurately. This was 2/3 of the race I’ll be running next weekend. For wall balls, we had to throw a 14-lb medicine ball about 10 feet over our head, catch and squat and then repeat 50 times. THEN we had to run two miles with it (there’s a wood carrying portion in next week’s race). That was easy on my lungs as I didn’t run much, but really tough on the rest of my body.
Oh, and the ground crawl was through red lava rocks (not as sharp as typical red rocks, but not super smooth and light like the normal lava ones with the holes).Anyway, I was easily the heaviest dude there, so beating half the people and trailing the frontrunners by a few seconds was pretty good.
And my beard is awesome.
